I desire to honor the land with my drawings and paintings. To living things that struggle to grow organically and naturally, I give homage. I am of this earth and it is "of me" as my ancestors are a part of all that grows and feeds me. My paintings are a quest to bear witness to this reality and affrirm the sacred space of many places where I have lived and studied, worked and taught: the Midwestern plains, temperate rain forests, central Mexico, and presently in the high desert of the Southwest.
